Meet Dr. Jonathan Finney – Co-Owner of Peak Chiropractic in Boise

At Peak Chiropractic, we specialize in upper cervical care, focusing on the most neurologically dense area of the spine—the atlas (C1) and axis (C2) vertebrae. Led by Dr. Jonathan Finney, our clinic uses cutting-edge 3D imaging technology to pinpoint misalignments with millimeter precision, ensuring the most accurate and effective adjustments for our patients.

The Science Behind Upper Cervical Chiropractic

Upper cervical chiropractic focuses on the atlas (C1) and axis (C2) vertebrae, which sit at the base of the skull and play a crucial role in nervous system function. These two bones can misalign in 274 different ways, making precise adjustments critical for restoring proper function.

At Peak Chiropractic, we use:

  • Advanced 3D X-ray imaging to evaluate misalignment
  • Measurements accurate to a hundredth of a millimeter for precision
  • Non-invasive, gentle adjustments—no twisting, cracking, or popping

By correcting upper cervical misalignment, we help restore nervous system function and allow the body to heal itself naturally.

Helping Patients with Neurological Conditions

When the atlas and axis misalign, they can cause nervous system dysfunction, leading to various neurological conditions, including:

  • Migraines & chronic headaches
  • Vertigo & balance issues
  • Trigeminal neuralgia
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS) symptom management
  • Other nervous system-related conditions

When the nervous system is in a stressful state, symptoms manifest and worsen over time. By removing interference, we allow the body to function at its highest potential.

A Gentle, Precise, and Effective Approach

At Peak Chiropractic, we believe in helping the body heal from within—without forceful twisting, cracking, or popping. Our goal is to:

  • Restore nervous system balance
  • Optimize brain-body communication
  • Provide long-lasting relief through precise upper cervical care

If you’re struggling with chronic health issues and haven’t found answers elsewhere, upper cervical chiropractic could be the key to restoring your health.

I was quite impressed with the technology used to assess my neck and spine.
I started my care with Peak back in mid February. I had never heard of a cervical chiropractor, until my daughter convinced me to try it. I had been dealing with shoulder/neck pain periodically, off and on, never quite getting rid of it. My last experience with a chiropractor left me injured and not feeling very confident about ever using chiropractic care again. Upon beginning my care with Peak, I began to see that this was different then anything i had ever heard of before. I was quite impressed with the technology used to assess my neck and spine. I began my adjustments, and was informed I would go through a detox with my body. Some weeks I was feeling great, and some weeks i definitely was feeling more pain. After about four weeks of regular adjustments, I probably had my worst week of pain! The following week was my best week, in fact, I didn’t even need to be adjusted. I am excited to continue my care with Dr. John and Dr. Kyara! As time moves forward, I am seeing more and more improvement. My body is beginning to recover on its own when i have been through excess stress or exertion. Before, my body was “stuck” in pain, and now it’s beginning to bounce back on its own. Dr John and Dr Kyara are both very kind, compassionate professionals. If you are on the fence about jumping in to cervical chiropractic care, take the plunge! The only thing you have to lose is your pain and discomfort!

I’ve been able to golf without pain and my overall quality of life has gone up.
Dr. Jon and Dr. Kyara are amazing! I started seeing them last fall. I had chronic lower back pain and spasms for half my life, about 18 years. After about 2 months of treatment my pain and spasms disappeared and they haven't come back! I've been able to golf without pain and my overall quality of life has gone up. I was so used to the pain that I was unaware of how my much it was hurting every area of my life. I HIGHLY recommend them! Thank you guys!

What Military Neck Actually Is

Military Neck Treatment in Boise: Restoring Your Natural Neck Curve

"Military neck" is the nickname for what happens when that curve flattens out, straightens, or in some cases reverses. The name comes from the rigid, at-attention posture it can create, like a soldier standing very upright. You may also hear it called loss of cervical lordosis or cervical kyphosis. Whatever it's called, the core issue is the same: the neck has lost the natural curve it's supposed to have.

Migraine Treatment in Boise: Calming the Nervous System With Upper Cervical Care

If you live with migraines, you already know they are nothing like an ordinary headache. The light that suddenly feels too bright, the nausea, the pressure that can steal an entire day — these aren't a matter of "just pushing through." At Peak Upper Cervical Center here in Boise, we look at migraines a little differently. Instead of only chasing the pain when it hits, we ask why your nervous system is tipping into a migraine in the first place.
