What to Expect on Your First Visit to Peak Chiropractic

Starting chiropractic care can feel like a big step, and we want to make the process as smooth and clear as possible. At Peak Chiropractic, we take a thorough, personalized approach to understanding your health concerns and finding the best path forward. Here’s what you can expect from the moment you contact us to your first adjustment.

What to Expect for Your First Upper Cervical Care Appointment at Peak Chiropractic

Step 1: Your Initial Phone Call

When you first reach out to Peak Chiropractic, you’ll likely speak with our friendly front desk office manager, Stephanie. She will take the time to understand your health concerns, what treatments you’ve tried before, and whether our care is the right fit for you. This helps us ensure that you get the best care possible.

Step 2: Your First Appointment

Once we determine that we’re a good fit for your needs, we’ll schedule your first visit. When you arrive, you’ll meet with one of our experienced chiropractors for a detailed health history consultation. This allows us to understand your past and current health challenges, ensuring we provide the best possible care.

Step 3: Neurological Exam & 3D X-Rays

To get a complete picture of your spinal health, we’ll conduct a comprehensive neurological examination to assess how your nervous system is functioning. This helps us determine if misalignments in your spine are interfering with your health.
We also take advanced 3D X-ray images of your head and neck to identify any structural misalignments that may be affecting your well-being.

Step 4: Your Personalized Care Plan & First Adjustment

After reviewing all the gathered information, our doctors will analyze your test results and X-rays in detail. When you return, we’ll sit down with you to discuss your results, explain the best plan for correction, and answer any questions you have.

Once your customized plan is in place, we’ll perform your first chiropractic adjustment. Following the adjustment, you’ll relax for 45 minutes, allowing your body to adapt to its new alignment. Before you leave, we’ll check your nervous system to ensure it’s functioning optimally.

From there, we’ll schedule future appointments based on your specific care plan, working together to restore your body to optimal health.

Since starting upper cervical chiropractic, there have been lasting changes in my upper and lower back
I have used conventional chiropractic (spinal manipulation, actuators, etc) for over 40 years. These adjustments never held or stabilized my issues. Since starting upper cervical chiropractic, there have been lasting changes in my upper and lower back and in my right hip. I have been to the Peak office for over 4 months now and am completely excited that as I enter my 80’s, I have had these significant improvements in my physical being. Thank you Peak staff!

With a 3D imaging machine you visually can seen how out of align you are and then a plan of action to get you back to alignment
After dealing with migraines my whole life, then panic attacks and most recently vertigo, which is the absolute worst experience to go through. I was determined to find help and that is where I found Peak Chiropractic with Dr. John and Dr. Kyara. They are warm, welcoming and above all experts in the field of Upper Cervical Chiropractic Care. They walk you through the process step by step and with a 3D imaging machine you visually can seen how out of align you are and then a plan of action to get you back to alignment. The adjustments are gentle and precise. No cracking or extreme movement of the head, which I can't handle. The last time I saw a chiropractor the extreme movement of my head led me to vomit in the bathroom right after the appointment. Not the case at Peak Chiropractic! I am on a treatment plan that started in February and will go until July and that gives my neck time to adjust and heal and then hopefully maintenance after. I can't tell you how happy I am to finally feel better, sleep better. I don't have the wave of dizziness that I was having on the daily. I also suffer from panic attacks driving and that in itself is debilitating. Even though I came to Peak for migraine and vertigo issues, I had no idea how much it would help me in gaining back my confidence to drive. I no longer get in my car with the feeling of dread and panic. That in itself is life changing!! So thankful and grateful for the care I am receiving and the healing and recovery process. I highly recommend you take the time to get the help you need if suffering from migraines, vertigo or panic attacks. No reason to be miserable when you can get the help you need and through Amazing people like Dr. John and Dr. Kyara!

Grounding and Nervous System Health: Reconnecting with Your Body

We've moved indoors, onto screens, and off the earth — and our nervous systems are paying the price. Grounding, the simple practice of making direct contact with the earth's surface, is one of the most accessible ways to support nervous system balance and reduce chronic stress. Here's what the research says and how it works alongside upper cervical care.

The Upper Cervical Complex: A Keystone for Spinal Health

Most people think of spinal health as something that works from the bottom up. But the evidence points in the opposite direction — your spine's integrity starts at the very top. The atlas (C1) and axis (C2) vertebrae form the foundation of the entire nervous system. When they're aligned, everything works better. When they're not, the effects can ripple from your neck all the way down.

Understanding Posture: How "Tech Neck" Affects Your Nervous System

Most people know that staring down at a phone all day causes neck tension. What fewer people realize is that forward head posture — even by just a few degrees — can place serious stress on the brainstem and disrupt nervous system function throughout the entire body. Here's what's really happening, and what you can do about it.

The Benefits of Red Light Therapy: Healing at the Cellular Level

Red light therapy is gaining serious attention in the wellness community — and for good reason. From pain relief and faster recovery to nervous system support and better sleep, this non-invasive tool works at the most fundamental level: your cells. Here's what the science says and how it can fit into your health routine.
